NEW! Eureka, Illinois
: March 16, 2003 .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. entry: May 2003 WOW! I haven't written here in a while. So sorry for that. If you review my itinerary, you'll see that I've been kinda busy, along with other things in everyday life! But I know Eureka, Illinois, has been anxious to see some of the pics from my time there! First off, I cherish the friendships I've made there at Liberty. I've known some of them since I was in high school, and it's been a joy to get to know many of them over the years. So, THANK YOU to all of my friends there. The concert at Liberty Bible included my normal set, but included a fun time of playing with Tim and Matt during the worship segment. Tim is the youth pastor and worship leader at the church, and plays guitar, and Matt plays drums. (They both are also a great asset to me on the youth convention praise team!) It was also great to hear the church family lift their voices! After
the concert, the youth group had a get-together called "Snack
& Yack." We had sandwiches from this great local place
"La Gondola" (I love their bread!), and then we played
a game. Angela (one of the youth leaders) would randomly choose
a word from a hat, and each of the teams would have to think
of a song with that word (or phrase) and sing it, otherwise be
eliminated. Fun! Oh yeah, there were some "limited edition
Mark Breta t-shirts" at this concert stop, too. They've
dubbed themselves "groupies." I guess that'd be the
Liberty chapter of some sort of fan club. I had a really fun time there with the group there... THANKS EVERYONE! Can't wait to see ya again soon... .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. entry: September
9, 2002 I've wanted to write about this for a while, but being on the road lately has kept me from this... but now here it is! I had a wonderful time with the people of Salem Bible Church, in Michigan. Each year, the church hosts an event for the town called "Corn Fest." It's set up with a craft fair, an entertainment tent, rides for the kids, and lots and lots of food! They even give away the sweet corn! At the end of the evening, they showed a Christian film on a huge drive-in screen, on the church parking lot. On Sunday, I was asked to lead the evening singspiration - where we sang worship songs and Pastor Lance led in a time of testimony & praise. It was a pleasure to be asked to participate this year... This being my second visit to the church this summer, it was humbling and encouraging to see how many people had been listening to the CD, and already waiting for the next project. Thanks, everyone, for your support and prayers. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. entry: August 12,
2002 Last night, some of the young people at church led a special praise & worship service. Steve was the worship leader (and organized the servicec), Paul and Dave sang (Dave also did the PowerPoint prep), Tim and John played guitars, and they asked me join them on the piano & keyboard. The first half of the service included a continuous string of praise songs, then the second half was for a time of testimonies & favorites. It was great to see these young men serve the Lord. It's a blessing to watch them grow musically - and spiritually! Top entry updated:
August 7, 2002 This has been quite a busy summer! I apologize for not getting my update here sooner. But I did want to tell you about this summer's Youth Convention. I personally had an awesome time with the teens. Everyone who came to me was very friendly and encouraging. It makes me yearn for next year's Convention! I was privileged to work with a great Praise Team. Mike & Jana (vocals), Tim & Michelle (keyboards), and Tim C. (acoustic guitar) were able to return, and Chuck (electric guitar) and Matt (rhythm kit) joined us this year. We also had Joel from the Cedarville group playing the congas & chimes for us. For not practicing throughout the year, this team meshed wonderfully, and I appreciate each of them for their work. I wish there was more time in the week for me to hang out. So many of you were kind enough to chat and even grab some lunch. It's great to see so many of you excited about the Lord! Get ready for next year! California, here we come... Top A quick shout out... ...
to my buddies at Grace Bible! ...to
my gang at PBC/Petra!!! ...In Memory On May 2, 2002, God saw fit to take my godfather Home. I have known him my whole life. He was like a brother to my parents. He was like another father to me, and to my brother & sister(in-law). He was a great influence to many people, and friendly and hospitable to everyone he met. He was a sweet man with a tender heart. He will be greatly missed, but will long be remembered. Please pray for my godmother and her two sons, as well as the rest of our family. I love you, Ninong! |
